A Curious Mixture: items and fishing route
Bring the Witch 75 Silver Ore, 3 Golden Perch, 2 Ruby Tail, and 1 Azure Salmon. The key correction is that Golden Perch and Ruby Tail are sea fish.
The answer in 30 seconds
Secure the 75 Silver Ore first so you do not spend it by mistake, then fish in the sea for Golden Perch and Ruby Tail. The developer says those two fish have no time or season restriction; they are simply rarer. Keep Azure Salmon separate because the developer reply did not identify it as sea-only.

The quest quantities appear in the player journal report, and Pixel Puffs answered the same thread with the catch rule: Golden Perch and Ruby Tail are sea-only, have no time or season lock, and received a higher spawn chance. That developer answer takes priority over older location guesses.

Low-waste collection route
Use the order below to avoid arriving with the right fish but not enough ore, or spending a whole day at the wrong water.
- Open the journal and confirm the four remaining counts before leaving the resort.
- Put 75 Silver Ore aside. Do not craft or upgrade with that stack while the quest is active.
- Finish urgent animal care, empty several bag slots, and go to a sea fishing point.
- Stay at sea until the Golden Perch and Ruby Tail counts are complete. Changing the clock or season is unnecessary.
- Collect the Azure Salmon without assuming it shares the sea-only rule, then return only when all four journal counts are complete.
If the quest is still stuck
No Golden Perch or Ruby Tail: verify that the water is part of the sea. Inland ponds and rivers are the wrong pool according to the developer.
Correct water, no catch yet: keep fishing or return another day. These two fish are rarer; time of day and season are not the blocker.
Missing Azure Salmon: do not copy the sea-only rule onto this fish. The cited developer response only names Golden Perch and Ruby Tail as exceptions.
Current-build note
Pixel Puffs posted the clarification on June 28, 2026 and said the rare-fish spawn chance had been increased. Update the game before testing an older route, because Early Access balancing and bug fixes can change results.
