Advanced Tips

You already know how to feed guests—this page tightens your daily route so town errands, crops, and new pens stop stealing your stars.

Shortcuts that save minutes once your lodge fills up. The free Steam demo already punishes slow town loops—animal owners wait on a timer, the shop shuts at night, and hunger keeps ticking while you fish or quest.

New here? Start with the Beginner's Guide. Need NPC order and quest rewards? See Village. Habitat prices live on Build.

A Tight Demo Day Route

Once you have a sheep pen and your first guest, this loop keeps stars stable while you chase Serenya, Rudgar, and the witch rescue chain.

1

Wake → open the office notebook. Note every pickup day before you leave the lodge.

2

Feed, water, sweep, pet. Pet with empty hands. Whistle guests back to pens if they wandered.

3

Mount the scooter once. Shop (Others tab) → active quest marker → lumberjack or vet—one round trip.

4

Chop beside habitats if Rudgar needs wood, or plant green bean / radish / hay for Serenya's farmer's mix.

5

Finish town before 8 p.m. After the shop closes, only resort chores and sleep remain.

6

Sleep when tired. Rest is available after 8 p.m.; staying out until ~3 a.m. forces you to bed.

Daily Loop Shortcuts

Small habits that save the most minutes once your lodge is busy.

Ride the scooter to town

Lumberjack, shop, and vet are far apart. Mount before every town trip—walking the full map costs stars when customers wait.

Check the guest notebook first

Pickup days sit in the office notebook. Glance before long fishing runs or witch quests so check-outs do not blindside you.

Bundle town on one loop

Hit the shop and your active quest marker in a single ride. Crisscrossing Pebble Town is how waiting animal owners leave.

Top off food storage for the helper

After the witch rescue, your habitat helper pulls from storage—it does not magic food from nowhere. Refill bins before long fishing or crop days.

Craft farmer's mix at home

Serenya's feed quest needs green bean, radish, and hay from your field, then a workbench craft—not a one-click shop buy forever.

Refill cans at the lodge well

Town wells work too, but your habitat zone has a well—use it between feed rounds so horses and alpacas do not drain you dry mid-quest.

schedule

Save Your Daylight

  • 1

    Shop before 8 p.m.

Town shop opens around 7:30 a.m. and closes around 8:00 p.m. Grab farmer's mix and seeds before the door shuts.

  • 2

    Chop beside your pens

Trees regrow. A quick pass near habitats beats one long wood run for Rudgar turn-ins.

  • 3

    Sleep once evening hits

You can rest after 8 p.m. Staying out until ~3 a.m. forces sleep and wastes the next day.

When Guests Pile Up

More species means more bowls to fill—not more time in the day.

  • checkDo not host a third species until feeding, cleaning, and check-outs feel routine.
  • checkFinish the lumberjack → witch rescue chain for the habitat helper—it auto-fills food and water.
  • checkRefill watering cans at town wells and the lodge well—horses and alpacas drain them fast.
  • checkThere is no hireable staff in the demo—you handle every bowl yourself until the habitat helper arrives.

Alpaca pens cost 155 wood + 110 stone; horses need 210 wood + 150 stone—budget wood before you accept new species.

Easy Wins You Might Miss

  • Ring the lumberjack bell when he is busy chopping—otherwise you wait while he finishes a tree.
  • Fish the river for Serenya's golden koi and emerald bass—bring fresh catches, not old ones from storage.
  • Pet guests between chores—mood drops while you are in town, and stars follow happiness.
  • Buy farmer's mix from the Others tab—not Decor or Seeds—when you need ready-made bowl food on day one.
  • Leave walking room between pens—large habitats cannot sit fence-to-fence; plan routes before you buy horse-tier pens.
  • Watch new customers in town—dropping a habitat can spawn a waiting owner; finish the build before you ride off.

Worth Remembering

Feed before you quest

Hunger, thirst, and mood keep ticking while you fish or chat in town. Stable feeding rounds first—quests second.

Grab the habitat helper

Auto food and water from storage is the best upgrade before you add another pen. See Village for the rescue chain.

Stock pens early

Hay, water, and bowls inside the fence before check-in beat scrambling after your guest arrives.

Bank wood before alpaca tier

That pen costs far more than your first sheep pen. Chop a few extra trees before you impulse-buy on the parchment menu.

Quick Answers

Should I chase every quest marker?

Not at once. Finish feeding rounds, then follow one town quest per ride. Stacked markers plus new guests is how stars drop.

What if I run out of daylight?

Sleep and reset. Finish shop and quest errands before 8 p.m.—the town shop will not reopen until the next morning.

Is social chat worth it early?

Flavor, not fuel. Skip long gossip until your morning feeding loop is boringly reliable.

Where do I learn the basics?

Start with the Beginner's Guide, then Hotel and Build when you want to expand.

Why do owners leave town?

New animal drop-offs can spawn a waiting customer when you place a habitat. If you wander the map too long, they abandon the queue—build and register before your next long errand.

Does the demo end?

Yes—the public demo stops mid–witch storyline. Prioritize the habitat helper and farmer's mix if you are racing the clock; full story continues in Early Access.

Will Early Access add staff?

No villager staff system in the demo—you do every chore. Early Access may add systems later; for now, automate with the habitat helper and tighter routes.
