Rudgar introduces horse-race betting in the south. First Ride is not riding practice or a scooter unlock.
Quick answer
First Ride asks you to visit the race track and complete one race, not win one. Choose an affordable allowed stake, run the race, then check the journal before betting again.

Step-by-step walkthrough
- Read First Ride in the journal and talk to Rudgar.
- Go to the southern horse-racing area.
- Read the displayed betting choices and allowed stake.
- Choose a horse and an allowed Support Amount you can afford to lose, then use Let's Go! and finish the race. Selecting a horse without running the race is not the objective.
- After the race, check progress and return to Rudgar if the journal asks.
When to start
Keep feed, seeds and quest expenses out of your betting budget.
Materials and bag space
A loss should not force another gathering trip. Decide the maximum you will spend before starting.
Route landmarks
Treat the racing area as the destination; no horse-control practice is part of this route.
What you get
The quest introduces betting. A possible payout depends on the race result, so it is not reliable daily income.
If you get stuck
Lost your first race? Check First Ride before paying for another: winning is not its objective. If it is still incomplete, distinguish selecting a horse from starting and finishing the race with Let's Go! Follow only the remaining journal step; do not chase a win to repair quest progress.

Completion check
After one completed race, check whether First Ride's objective cleared and its quest reward arrived. A losing result alone is not a reason to repeat the race; follow any remaining journal instruction.

Read the current First Ride objective and reward panel. The June screen requires one completed race and lists 250 coins; if your current prompt differs, use that rather than chasing a betting win.
